The Confederation of Asian Sports Table Football Associations (CASTFA) has taken another step towards confirming its credentials with the selection of an official logo.<\/p>\n

After two rounds of voting by players from Australia, Japan and Singapore, the winner was a striking logo designed by Australia’s Adrian Elmer<\/p>\n

\"castfa<\/a>We are very proud that so many players contributed logos to the competition, and then voted on a choice,” said CASTFA President Kenzo Koi of Japan. Ten logos were considered in the first round, with the top three to contest the final stage.<\/p>\n

The design competition was conducted by the board of CASTFA, composed of Koi, Australian President Benji Batten, Singapore President Tan Kok Wee, and FISTF Vice President, Asia, Steve Dettre.<\/p>\n

In his design notes, Adrian said his winning logo: “… features the colours chosen by the new confederation as the official colours – red, blue and yellow – representing the dominant national colour of each of the three founding member nations – Singapore, Japan and Australia.”<\/p>\n

“The image is a stylised map of Asia used to form a hand flicking a table football figure, thus both depicting the nature of our sport as well as making it specific and unique to our region,” he said.<\/p>\n

As a simple, contained shape, it will facilitate the addition of the logo to playing shirts, and other appropriate objects.<\/p>\n

“I\u2019m very honoured to have had my logo chosen from an excellent field of contenders,” Adrian said.<\/p>\n

“I love doing design work for our sport. I\u2019m never going to be one of the best players and win the world cup but I can always dream that the design work I do for table football might be viewed as amongst the best in the world.”<\/p>\n

Adrian has designed the logo of the Australian Table Football Association, as well as many of the Australian clubs.<\/p>\n

The CASTFA Board would like to thank the other two designers for their efforts in providing great designs. Singapore’s John Edwards and Japan’s\u00a0Yuko Nakahara provided stiff opposition to Adrian’s design. The final count was 30 votes for Adrian’s, 25 for John’s and 22 for Yuko’s. Their work won’t go to waste, however, as the Board is considering utilising their designs in other areas of CASTFA’s work.<\/p>\n

“We believe their outstanding designs can still live on, in key events and awards under CASTFA’s control,” said Singapore president Tan Kok Wee.<\/p>\n

CASTFA is a recognised continental association of the Federation of International Sports Table Football (FISTF).<\/p>\n
