Hong Kong’s Antonio Carabillo has sensationally captured the Number 1 ranking in Asia after his appearance in the final of the Asian Cup in Melbourne in January.<\/p>\n

Despite losing 2-0 to Melbourne TFC’s Carl Young, Antonio leapt to the top of the Asian rankings courtesy of his previous place of #77 on the world rankings.
\nCarl meanwhile jumped 101 places into 34th on the world list, placing him 3rd in Asia and the top Aussie, ahead of clubmate Peter Thomas.<\/p>\n

Singapore’s Anas Rahamat of Jurong Central dropped to second in Asia.
\nThere were a swathe of Asian players who had significant world ranking jumps, as can be seen in the world and ranking lists listed below.
\nMelbourne TFC grabbed top spot on the Asian club rankings, with Sydney TFC moving into 4th place.<\/p>\n

In the U19 category, Northern Falcons TFC’s Oliver Ollnow added top place in the Asian rankings to his victory in the U19 category at the Asian Cup, replacing Singapore’s Giovanni Choong.<\/p>\n

With changes to theU15 and U12 category groups, and the Asian players moving into the U19 categories, there was not as much movement there.
\nIn the Ladies category, Northern Phoenix’s Beth Eveligh gained some consolation for losing the Ladies’ final in Melbourne by grabbing the #1 ranking in Asia.<\/p>\n
