FISTF ranking update

Peter Thomas of Melbourne TFC slipped 3 places to 51, but still remained Australia’s top ranked player in the latest FISTF rankings released today.
His long standing rival Robert Green (Northern Falcons) slipped 9 places to 82, after both were eliminated in the quarter finals of the Australian Grand Prix in January.
Biggest mover was AGP finalist Carl Young (Melbourne) who rocketed up 605 places to 106, despite losing in the last seconds to Austria’s Christian Haas, who moved to 6th on the world ranking after his win in Sydney.
Raffaele Lombard (Subbuteo Parramatta) moved up 20 places to 162, while Benji Batten (Melbourne) jumped 80 places to 251.
Northern Falcons’ Eliot Kennedy fell 32 places after missing the tournament, while his teammate Steve Dettre slumped 48 places after failing to progress from his group.
Fabrizio Coco (Subbuteo Parramatta) made his debut in the rankings at 259, while the other big movers were his club mates Daniele Lombardi (up 127 to 299) and Adrian Elmer (up 396 to 364), with Adrian moving into the Australian Top 10 for the first time.
An additional 13 Australian players were added to the world rankings after the AGP16.
In the U15 world rankings, Jonty Brener (Northern Falcons) debuted at an impressive 30, while Imojjen Elmer (Subbuteo Parramatta) entered at 48.
Benjamin Ng (Melbourne) was 64, while Subbuteo Parramatta’s Gabriel Lombardi was 65, Æowyn Elmer 102 and Hipfingerz’ Daniel Sirmai at 103.
In the teams ranking, Melbourne TFC leapfrogged Northern Falcons after winning the AGP16, moving from 71 to 43, while the Falcons dropped from 50 to 67 after missing out on the play-offs. Subbuteo Parramatta edged up from 93 to 79th place after their semi final placing.
