In order to give all the FISTF tournaments held in Australia the best chance to attract players from around the country and the rest of the world, the ATFA Board is seeking to set its schedule of FISTF tournaments in place by the end of May, 2018. The Board is therefore seeking expressions of interest for the remaining FISTF tournaments for next season. At this point in time, the Melbourne International Open (Melbourne, October 2018) and Australian Grand Prix (Sydney, January 2019) are set in place and an application for the Perth International Open in July 2019 already being processed. Aside from these tournaments, ATFA is permitted a further three FISTF Satellite tournaments.
The Board would like to encourage these tournaments in all parts of Australia, especially those where FISTF tournaments have not previously been held. If you haven’t organised a tournament before, don’t be put off, the Board has great experience in organising them and will do everything they can to assist you.
In order to apply to host a tournament, clubs (or collections of clubs in the same city) are encouraged to look at the application process which can be found by clicking here. Send an e-mail to Adrian Elmer once your application is together and the ATFA Board will then consider it. Applications are being sought for the remaining three/four tournaments by May 6, 2018, in order to have the calendar of events for the 2018/19 season set by the end of May, 2018.
