The final Australian event on the 2017-18 FISTF Calendar is set to be played this Saturday as players from across Australia and Singapore head west for the Perth International Open.
Held at the beautiful Fremantle Town Hall, competition is sure to be hot this year with Singapore’s Benny Ng and Tan Yew Loy headlining the international challengers for the title.
Local favourites include Western Flickers’ Steve Wright and Perth’s Ross McNulty and Alan Kimber who have been training hard to take victory on home soil.
The field is full of tournament experience with John Harty, Bev Bone and Chris Thorn having played recently at the Singapore Grand Prix, while Hugh Best returns from his appearance at the Japan Grand Prix last weekend.
As part of the football festivities, a football collectors fair will also be held on the day. More information about the collectors fair can be found here: www.facebook.com/events/175506096656388
The ATFA would like to wish all players good luck for the tournament and we hope you have a thoroughly enjoyable weekend!
Sports Table Football, or “Subbuteo” as it is widely known, is a game based on association football. For many years it was marketed as “the replica of Association Football” or “Table Soccer”.
Entry for spectators is free and we encourage people of all ages to come down and watch. There are spare tables on hand for beginners to try out the game. For anyone interested in playing Subbuteo table football, this would be the perfect opportunity to come down and see what all the excitement is about.
