Today the Australian Table Football Association announced its calendar of events that will form part of the Federation of International Sports Table Football (FISTF) World Tour.
From Sydney to Perth, action will take place all over the country as players compete for World Ranking points against interstate and overseas opponents.
The season will kick off with an International Open held in Melbourne on October 20-21, 2018 and will close in Fremantle with the Perth International Open to be played from July 12-14, 2019.
The new addition to this year’s calendar is the Canberra Satellite which will be the first FISTF event to be played in Canberra. Hosted by the Canberra Table Football Club, this event will take place on March 10, 2019, which is on the Canberra Day/Labour Day (VIC) long weekend.
The season’s biggest event is set to take place in Sydney with the 2019 Australian Grand Prix scheduled for January 18-20, 2019. The standard of play at this tournament is expected to reach a new high this season with talented overseas players set to travel down under to attempt to win Australia’s most prestigious tournament.
The Altona Cup Satellite will make a return this season (May 25, 2019) and Sydney TFC will again host a Satellite with their popular Christmas Cup event being now played for FISTF points (December 2, 2019).
All tournaments will have an Open category and where possible an U19 (Junior) and a Ladies category. The Melbourne International Open and Sydney Grand Prix will also feature FISTF Teams Events.
